I like knowing how many chapters are in a book and having each chapter be a similar length. I also didn’t like the layout the chapters were all over the place and the book seemed to be split into a few parts and I couldn’t understand that. I wanted a story that moved away from the original a lot more not just in the last 100 pages. I was quite excited to read this as “Beauty and the Beast” is one of my all-time favourite Disney movies. I don’t think I found it interesting until the last 100 pages out of the 482 in the whole book, but even then, it was quite slow going. It was very much true to the original order of events just with a few additional pieces of information added in. I was determined to finish it and find out what the twist would bring but it was a really slow drawn out storyline. Will magic come back on itself? Will Belle break the curse? They learn about the past of their provincial town and Belle learns about the Mother she never knew. It starts out like the classic tale but once Belle is trapped in the castle, she has to help the Beast to find a way that will undo the curse. This particular book is “Beauty and the Beast” but as though Belle’s Mother had cursed the Beast. This series adds a twist to each of the classic Disney fairy-tales.
